Mr. Baichwal Verified

Ravi Baichwal previously worked as an anchor/reporter for CTV in Canada. He was a principal of the station's supperhour newscasts. Baichwal was in the chair when U.S. soldiers found former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein and when the space shuttle Columbia disintegrated over Texas. Previously, he broadcast West Coast reaction to the September 11th terrorist attacks. He has also been the host of two award-winning election-night specials.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Baichwal has done some work in radio as well. He followed up his successful stints with CKNW in Vancouver with the Ravi Baichwal Show Sunday nights in Toronto. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Baichwal began his journalism career with CBC, starting as a researcher in Calgary. He moved on to become an associate producer-reporter-anchor with CBC's Newsworld business program. Prior to that, he was a public affairs consultant in the public and private sectors in Ontario. He lives in Toronto with broadcaster Sonja Nordahl and their son, Tejas. Baichwal holds a bachelor's of arts degree in political science with a certificate in French language studies from the University of Western Ontario.
