David Adams covers Central and South America as well as the Caribbean for The St. Petersburg Times out of Miami. Adams also cover alternative energy issues for the Times and The Fueling Station, one of the paper's blogs. He represents the United States as Regional Vice Chairman of the Inter American Press Association (IAPA) Committee on Freedom of the Press. He also contributes to The Indie Film Group as an educational coordinator, an IFG coordinator and script doctor.[CR-LF][CR-LF]A citizen of Great Britain, Adams graduated in 1983 with a BA Honors in modern history from the University of Oxford and then received a post-graduate journalism degree from the City University of London. He was also a regular broadcaster for both the BBC and NPR from 1987 to 1994. He has covered a variety of events, from the 1989 invasion of Panama to Hurricane Andrew in 1992. He began his writing career as a professional English/writing instructor and became a professional screenplay writer in 1998.
