Sydney Showboats has opened booking for its popular Vivid Sydney Cabaret Dinner Cruise for the 2026 festival season, offering guests an immersive harbour experience that combines dining, live entertainment and views of Sydney's world-famous Vivid Lights festival. Operating throughout the Vivid Sydney period from 22 May to 13 June, the experience brings together a fun celebration on Sydney Harbour's most unique vessel. Set aboard an authentic paddlewheeler, the experience offers guests a unique perspective of the illuminated harbour. As guests cruise across Sydney Harbour, they can witness major Vivid Lights installations, including the vibrant projections on the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. This year's Opera House projection, ˜Opera Mundi', created by a French artist, is expected to become one of the festival's key visual highlights, while the Harbour Bridge installations are also anticipated to deliver a larger and more striking display. Select Showboat Vivid Sydney cruises will also offer views of Vivid Sydney fireworks display on 28 and 29 May, and 4, 5, 11 and 12 June, giving guests the opportunity to experience multiple festival elements from the water. A defining feature of the Showboat Vivid experience continues to be its onboard cabaret show, ˜Voyage of Love'. Running for one hour, the production features a nine-sequence performance presented by an all-Australian cast. Having entertained audiences since 1987, it remains Sydney's longest-running cabaret show and continues to distinguish the experience from conventional sightseeing cruises operating during the festival season. The cruise also includes a three-course dining experience, reflecting growing tourist interest in combining the exploration of destination-based events with a good dining experience. Sydney Showboat has additionally introduced group-focused options for the 2026 season, including ˜drinks' packages designed for larger gatherings during the festival period. With Vivid Sydney continuing to attract local, interstate and international guests each year, the announcement signals a broader trend towards experience-driven tourism, where dining, entertainment and destination events are increasingly combined into one. The Sydney Showboat Vivid Sydney Cabaret Dinner Cruise departs from King Street Wharf, Darling Harbour, with easy access from central Sydney locations including Circular Quay, The Rocks and the CBD.
