Mr. Weir Verified

Bill Weir serves as a co-anchor and reporter for many ABC shows including Good Morning America Weekends, 20/20, World News with Charles Gibson, and Nightline.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Mr. Weir began his career in broadcast journalism in 1991 as a general assignment reporter and weekend sportscaster at KAAL-TV in Rochester, Minn. He served as an anchor and sports reporter, working most recently in television development for USA and FX. He joined WGN-TV in Chicago in 1995 as a sports anchor and reporter. During his three years there, he was promoted to anchor of the WGN Morning News. From 1998 to 2002, Mr. Weir was based at KABC-TV in Los Angeles, where he was sports director and weeknight anchor of sports reports. He also hosted the popular weekly program Monday Night Live. Mr. Weir has also worked at WLUK-TV in Green Bay, Wisc., where he reported on sports, and produced and hosted two weekly syndicated shows devoted to Green Bay Packers football. [CR-LF][CR-LF]A Milwaukee native, Mr. Weir is the recipient of four Emmy Awards. He earned degrees in journalism and creative writing from Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif.
