Jane Watrel is a national correspondent for the television station's division and has reported for News 4 since 1999. She began her career in Dickinson, N.D., as a reporter, anchor, and news director. She worked as a reporter and anchor in South Bend, Ind., and in Omaha, Neb. From 1991 to 1999, she was a reporter in Orlando, Fla., specializing in politics and government fraud. Watrel has covered events including Hurricane Andrew, the U.S. occupation of Haiti, the Oklahoma City tornadoes, and the Jon Benet Ramsey grand jury. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Watrel is a native of Slippery Rock, Penn. She is a runner and has completed two Marine Corps Marathons in Washington, D. C. She and her husband live in Alexandria, Va. Watrel graduated from Penn State University with a journalism degree.
