UMESH AVVANNAVAR

Umesh M Avvannavar is a journalist based in Dharwad, India.

 Former Business Journalist with Deccan Herald, a mainstream English daily from Bengaluru served for close to five years. I began with reporting of jewellery industry, banking and retail industry.

Having worked with one of the carmakers for four years, I cover extensively on the automobile industry for Deccan Herald monthly supplement “DH-WHEELS”, published for 10 years covering all aspects of the automobile industry including car and bike reviews and interviews with top company CEOs and MDs.

I have test driven and reviewed more than two dozen of cars, an area in which I have gained core competency and expertise.

The machine tool sector is the mother of all industries, I was very keen to cover the IMTMA (Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers Association) exhibition at BIEC (Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre) for the third consecutive year.

During my sabbatical from corporate life, I have decided to visit all colleges to share my 10 years of corporate and media experience.
