Jeff Turton has been programming Jazz on Boston radio for more than 28 years, starting at WBUR in the late 70?s. The last 22 plus years have been at WFNX-FM. The Jazz Brunch is the longest running specialty show at FNX. The show's challange has been to figure out how to program a Jazz show that would appeal to the station?s primary demographic, an audience much younger than your typical jazz listener, while still honoring the core Jazz audience. The show has been designed not to be the type of Jazz show typically heard on Boston radio. While listeners will hear many of the straight ahead Jazz artists featured elsewhere on radio in Boston, listeners are guaranteed to hear many artists who stretch the boundaries of what could be considered legitimate Jazz.
