Tara Thomas is currently an anchor for KWWL-TV and covers local to international news.[CR-LF][CR-LF]After graduation in 1995, Ms. Thomas worked for ten months at KIMT-TV (CBS) in Mason City as a general assignment reporter. From 1996-2002, she worked her way up at KIMA-TV (CBS) in Yakima, Wash., from morning show anchor/producer/reporter to main anchor/reporter. She interned in college at CNN's Washington D.C. bureau, WEEK-TV (NBC) and WMBD-TV (CBS) in Peoria, Ill. [CR-LF][CR-LF]In addition to serving as a board member for the Hawkeye Chapter of the American Red Cross, Ms. Thomas is a mentor for students at the Dr. Walter Cunningham School for Excellence in Waterloo. She is a graduate of Boston University where she received a B.S. in broadcast journalism and minor in political science.
