Donna Terrell is currently an anchor for Fox News at Nine on KLRT-TV. She joined the station in February 2004. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Ms. Terrell comes to Little Rock from Detroit, Mich., where she served as the main anchor for WKBD-TV and WWJ-TV. The UPN Nightside News she anchored was voted Best of Detroit-2002 by the Detroit Free Press. Before moving to Detroit, she worked at WKYC-TV in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was a medical reporter and quickly advanced to weekend anchor/reporter and then to weekday morning and noon anchor. Ms. Terrell began her career as a reporter and eventually an anchor for WOTV-TV in Battle Creek, Mich. She also served as an instructor of television news at Kellogg Community College. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Throughout her broadcast career, Ms. Terrell has been honored with many awards. She has earned two Emmy Awards for her work bringing light to medical and breast cancer issues. She was nominated for two additional Emmy Awards. In addition, Terrell earned an Associated Press Award for a Special Assignment on patients right to die. She also had the opportunity to cover several major events, including Nelson Mandelas tour of the United States after his release from a South African prison. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Ms. Terrell has been actively involved in several charities, including the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. While in Ohio, she was able to increase public awareness about breast cancer and encourage women to take precautionary measures against breast cancer, including monthly self-exams. She has volunteered for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and organizations promoting childhood adoption, such as the Centers for Children and Family Services and the Achievement Centers for Children. She is a member of the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences and the National Association of Black Journalists.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Ms. Terrell believes it is the job of the journalist to enlighten viewers and provide them with a window to their community and to the world. She enjoys making appearances and is currently working with the Easter Seals of Arkansas to help raise money for ongoing programs. Ms. Terrell has a Bachelor of Applied Arts in broadcast and cinematic arts from Central Michigan University.
