Brian Schwaner is a news editor for the Associated Press' New Orleans bureau. He covers local and regional news.[CR-LF][CR-LF]He previously was responsible for overseeing the AP's news and sports coverage in Louisiana, directing a staff of 14 reporters and two photographers. Mr. Schwaner was also in charge of business coverage for the Cincinnati Enquirer since 2003. He began his career editing two weekly newspapers in suburban New Orleans, and became managing editor of The Courier in Houma in 1978. He then joined the States-Item of New Orleans, which later merged with the Times-Picayune. He was then business editor of the Des Moines Register and vice president of marketing and communications for MetroVision.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Mr. Schwaner is a graduate of the University of New Orleans.
