Ms. Roberts Verified

Sally-Ann Roberts joined WWL-TV in 1977. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Ms. Roberts first job was at her campus radio station as reporter, announcer and anchor. Upon graduation, Roberts worked at a radio station in Mississippi acting as a community relations director, announcer and news reporter. Ms. Roberts then went to work for a small television station in Eastabutchie, Miss., working as a weathercaster, weekend anchor and feature reporter.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Ms. Roberts has received first-place awards in reporting excellence from the New Orleans Press Club, the Louisiana Associated Press, and the Radio and Television News Directors Association, among others. Her journalistic efforts contributed to a Murrow award for late-breaking news in 1998.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Ms. Roberts has received the Toastmaster International's Communication and Leadership award, as well as recognition by New Orleans Black Social Workers, the Easter Seal Society, and the Drug Enforcement Agency.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Ms. Roberts developed the Each One, Save One program, a non-profit organization that links local students with volunteers from the business community in a mentoring program. [CR-LF][CR-LF]She wrote a book entitled, Going Live: An Anchorwoman Reports Good News.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Ms. Roberts has a master's in Communication from the University of Southern Mississippi.
