In addition to his current assignment, Rick Pender is an arts and entertainment editor for Citybeat. He is a regional correspondent for the Backstage. Mr. Pender is the chairman of American Theater Critics Association and a member of the College of Fellows of the Public Relations Society of America. The Society of Professional Journalists named Mr. Pender as Ohio's Best Critic in 2002. He is an honors graduate of Oberlin College and holds a masters degree and PhD in English from Case Western Reserve University.
