Chris Murphy manages IDC's SmartBuy/SmartIndex programs, providing valuable data analysis, consulting, and client interaction. He has helped build the program into the industry recognized standard for price benchmarking and price negotiation. Mr. Murphy also works closely with the IT Advisory Tools staff as the key contact for all IT hardware procurement services, working with an ever-growing Fortune 1000 customer base. He is also the chief analyst on vendor (supply) side pricing research for companies such as Compaq, IBM, HP and Toshiba. Mr. Murphy has been a recipient of IDC's Product Quality Award as well as numerous letters of commendation on analyst support and analysis.
