I am a Scottish based freelance writer, comms professional and accredited transformational coach. My interests are in mental health, social justice, equalities, men's isssues, LGBTQ+, self-development, and the third sector.

My passion is writing, communicating and coaching around issues that impact everyday people.

I am an experienced book reviewer. I also write features about people and organisations who do inspiring work in the charity/communities sector.

Highlights from my work include: running as therapy and how singer Heather Small got me through the London Marathon; Scotland's national conversation on LGBTQ+ mental health; F*ck up nights as social networking; and understanding ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences).

Having built a successful career in communications for the last 18 years (working in both London and Scotland) I have branched out and developed my freelance writing portfolio.

I am Book Review Editor for Psychreg, one of the UK's most popular online psychology and wellbeing websites, and I also write the charity and community pages for The Westender, Glasgow's leading lifestyle magazine.

As an avid lifelong learner, I completed a postgraduate in journalism and a qualification in counselling all whilst working full-time. Most recently, I completed my my ICF Accredited Diploma in Transformational Coaching with the Animas Centre in London.

I am also Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Arkbound Foundation, a UK-based charity that is running innovative projects to break down barriers into book publishing.
