Dan McDonald began his career in newspaper advertising in 1997, as General Manager of the Petoskey/Charlevoix County Star. In January 2000, he became General Manager of Advertiser's Postal Service - the northern Michigan distribution arm. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Along with overseeing the distribution operation, Mr. McDonald managed and sold to national/regional accounts including Wal-mart, Kmart and Spartan Retail in this capacity. In June 2001, he was promoted to National Sales Manager where he focused completely on national/regional sales. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Later, Mr. McDonald became a national sales representative for the Greater Detroit Newspaper Network. Mr. McDonald's experience includes 16 years in retail/grocery management plus national sales and marketing experience with a major crafts & gifts importer. He holds a Business Administration degree from Northwood University. Currently he is writes for the sports section of the paper, often concentrating on golf.
