Pam Martin is the weekday 12, 6, and 11 p.m. anchor at WSB-TV. She also is a special investigative reporter. Ms. Martin came to WSB-TV in 1989 as an anchor/reporter from another network affiliate in Atlanta, and previously was anchor/reporter in Little Rock, Ark., and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Recent awards in 2000 include an Emmy for her coverage of the mill fire in Atlanta, a Society of Professional Journalists award for best documentary for Georgia's Panda Project, and an Associated Press Honorable Mention for the same documentary. Previous awards include local Emmy awards for anchoring and series reporting, an Associated Press Award for a series and an AABJ for series reporting.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Ms. Martin was born and raised in St. Louis, Mo. and graduated from Southern Methodist University with honors in three years, earning a degree in journalism. She was sports editor of her college newspaper and the first woman allowed to cover sports events from the Texas A&M press box. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Ms. Martin and her husband live on a farm, where they have horses, cattle, dogs and cats. Other interests include restoring their circa-Civil War home, gardening, cooking and photography.
