Marcia Lense is an anchor and producer for TV6 News at 12 p.m. She also serves as Internet producer for KWQC-TV.[CR-LF][CR-LF]She joined the station in 1988. Her career began in television with an internship at WIRF-TV. Then, she worked in radio news at KCRG-AM in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Two years later she was promoted to morning news anchor at the sister television station, KCRG-TV. In 1987, she was hired by WQAD-TV as their Iowa bureau reporter. Various organizations have honored her, including the Society of Professional Journalists, the Associated Press, and Women in Communications, for reporting and for producing special programs. She has been nominated twice for an Emmy award and, in 2004, she received the Alumni Achievement Award from Western Illinois University. She holds a degree in mass communications from Western Illinois University.
