Christopher Lawrence is the senior Pentagon correspondent for CNN, working out of the Washington D.C. bureau. He was previously a correspondent at CNN's Los Angeles bureau. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Lawrence joined the network in March 2004. He previously worked for the Chicago bureau.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Prior to CNN, he was a correspondent for CBS Newspath. Lawrence also served as a consumer/investigative reporter and weekend morning anchor for WXYZ-TV in Detroit. Previously, he was a weekend anchor and general assignment reporter at WTVH-TV in Syracuse, N.Y., and a general assignment reporter for WDBB-TV in Tuscaloosa, Ala. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Lawrence garnered several awards and honors for his work, including the Syracuse Press Club Award for Best News Feature in 1996 and an Associated Press Award in 2000 for Best News Feature. He also received an Emmy nomination in 1999 for Best Spot News. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Lawrence attended the University of Maryland at College Park.
