Kait Bolongaro is an award-winning online and broadcast journalist based in Brussels, Belgium.

I am an internationally recognized politics reporter who regularly speaks at events, moderates panels, and contributes to TV news shows.

I am currently Bloomberg's Canadian government reporter based in Ottawa. I am also an on-air contributor to BNN Bloomberg and a regular commentator on television and radio where I discuss political issues in Canada. I previously was a regular contributor to Euronews and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation on EU politics and Brexit. I am multilingual, having been interviewed in English, French, Italian, Spanish and German.

I am also a PhD Candidate at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Communications and Media Studies. My research focuses on the media coverage of populist radical right political parties by the Brussels Press Corps, specifically European publications who publish in English.

As a lifelong traveler and lover of languages, I have spent 9 years in Europe and 6 months in Africa covering politics earning multiple fellowships, including with the International Women’s Media Foundation in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

I frequently present and moderate panels for clients such as the European Commission, Lewis & Clark College and the Fritt Ord Foundation. I cover and speak on politics, environment, climate change, business, science and human rights from Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America.

I received a silver medal for an article on water pollution in China from the Prince Albert II of Monaco and United Nations Correspondents Association Global Prize on Climate Change in 2017. My coverage of Down Syndrome also received an award for science reporting from the World Health Summit and the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting in 2016.

My work has been published by POLITICO Europe, Al-Jazeera English, BBC, The Guardian, NPR, VICE, Deutsche Welle, the Irish Times, Pacific Standard and the Middle East Eye, among others.
