Richard Jacks' first television job was in Talladega, Ala., at a local cable station. He then moved on to the CBS affiliate in Anniston where he served as weekend weather forecaster. In less than two years, he moved to Birmingham and worked at the local CBS affiliate (what was then WBMG-TV). In the summer of 1997, he joined the NBC 13 First Alert Storm Team. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He is an aviation enthusiast and occasionally flies as he works toward his pilots license. Jacks is a member of the Advent Episcopal Cathedral Choir. He was born and raised in Talladega, graduated from Talladega High School in 1990 and from Mississippi State's Broadcast Meteorology Program in 1995.
