Jim Handly co-anchors the 4 p.m. newscast and reports for the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts. He joined the station in 1992. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Prior to moving to Washington, he anchored and reported for the CBS affiliate in Hartford, Conn. He traveled to the Middle East for a series of reports following Desert Storm. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Handly began his broadcasting career in West Palm Beach, Fla., as an anchor and reporter for the NBC affiliate, WPTV-TV.[CR-LF] [CR-LF]Handly has been actively involved in the Joy of Sports Foundation. For years he also has been devoted to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and American Heart Association campaigns. He has become the perennial host of the Prince George Community College's annual Blue Bird Blues Festival. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Handly is a competitive tennis player and takes part in a number of charity tennis events. Handly holds a Bachelor's degree in journalism.
