Tim Grieser is responsible for the system management software research in IDC's Enterprise Systems Management Software program. His coverage includes software for managing systems and applications across a wide variety of platforms. A key focus area is e-business and distributed applications performance and availability, especially Web applications response time from the end-user perspective. He was a product manager, R&D director, vice president of Product Marketing and finally vice president of North American Marketing at BGS Systems of Waltham. When that company was acquired by BMC Software of Houston, Dr. Grieser assumed a management position in performance product strategy and planning.
