Rajiv Chandrasekaran is an associate editor for the Washington Post. He coordinates coverage of stories related to national security.[CR-LF][CR-LF]Prior to his current position he served as the assistant editor for international news and as a national staff writer at the Post. He has covered the war in Iraq, focusing on how the war is playing out politically in Washington. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Mr. Chandrasekaran first joined the Post in 1994. After serving as a metro desk reporter and covering technology issues, he became the Post's Southeast Asia bureau chief, based in Jakarta, Indonesia. He was subsequently sent to Iraq to cover the U.S.-led invasion and occupation in 2003 and 2004. He then returned to D.C., where he was the assistant managing editor for continuous news. [CR-LF][CR-LF]He authored a book, "Imperial Life in the Emerald City: Inside Iraq's Green Zone," about the Iraq war and its aftermath, which was a 2006 finalist for the National Book Award. Mr. Chandrasekaran's work has also appeared in Foreign Policy magazine.
