Lyndy Brannen is currently an anchor for WJGL-TV, covering everything from local to international news. Prior to this, he was the Coastal Sunrise Anchor for WSAV-TV in Savannah, Ga. His career began at a 1000-watt radio station in downtown Savannah, Ga., in 1970, when Brannen began his first Sunday afternoon airshift for WBYG-FM radio. Within a few weeks, he was hosting the weekday afternoon Big Band show, and in a few months he had moved to WSGA-FM, a Top 40 radio station in Savannah. He continued working in radio, eventually breaking into the television business in Macon, Ga., and moving to Chicago for a couple of years in the big city. In 1989, Brannen returned home to Savannah to anchor WSAV-TV's Coastal Sunrise morning show, Savannah's popular two-hour early morning news and information program. He joined WJGL-TV in January 2008.
