Victoria Block is a long-time member of the 7 News team, who has covered a variety of subjects from breaking news to investigative features, from education to politics, and from neighborhood crime to global warming. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Before launching a television career, Block worked in radio for eight years. She was a general assignment reporter and anchor at WHDH-Radio where she covered breaking news stories. Before that, she worked as a reporter and anchor at WJAR-Radio and WEAN-Radio, in Providence, R.I. Block's reporting has taken her around the world including live coverage from Vatican City to cover the sex abuse crisis in the Church, Israel for the late Prime Minister Yitzac Rabins assassination, as well as the bombing of the Dizengoff Center in Tel Aviv, and Germany where she covered the Iranian hostage crisis. Block was at Ground Zero in Manhattan just hours after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, and she went to Long Island to cover the crash of TWA Flight 700, Los Angeles for the O.J. Simpson arrest and trials, Detroit to cover the Nancy Kerrigan vs. Tonya Harding assault. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Block studied art at the School for the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and also in Zurich, Switzerland. She is a graduate of the High School of Art and Design in New York City.
