Joe Arredondo has been the sports director at Channel 56 since October 1990. He produces and co-hosts the Prep Football Report. He is the sports anchor on the Evening Edition, which airs weeknights at 6 p.m. Arredondo was the 1998 IHSAA District 1 Distinguished Media Service Award recipient. He was co-recipient of the 1992 News-Media Award presented by the Indiana Football Coaches Association. He is the play-by-play voice and producer of the High School Game of the Week, which received the 1993 Production Award from the Indiana Public Television Association. Arredondo graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Telecommunications and Political Science. He began broadcasting in 1987 at WWJY-FM in Crown Point as a news reporter.
