Davar Iran Ardalan is the Senior Supervisory Producer for the Weekend Edition Sunday at the National Public Radio. She arrived at this position by previously working as the supervisory producer for the Morning Edition. She first joined NPR as a temporary production assistant. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Ms. Ardalan started her career in broadcast journalism at KOAT-TV. She then joined KUNM-FM as a reporter. Prior to her career in American broadcasting, she worked and lived in Iran as a television newscaster. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Her work has been recognized by the Associated Press. She also received a Gracie award from the American Women in Radio and Television for the NPR documentary "Loss and Its Aftermath."[CR-LF][CR-LF]Her name, Iran, inspired the 2004 NPR series, ?My Name is Iran.? This led to the publication of her memoir, My Name is Iran published by Henry Holt. [CR-LF][CR-LF]Ms. Ardalan graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Journalism. She attended elementary and middle school at Iranzamin International School in Tehran.
